Rúben Linhares breaks records and much more than what he expected!

The National Summer Adapted Swimming Championship, held at the Póvoa de Varzim Long Course Swimming Pool, in Portugal came to an end and the results of our athlete, Rúben Linhares were much more than what he expected.

On the 23rd of February 2014 Ruben did his best times in 50m and 100m freestyle, which were two personal and national records.

He continued to work even harder, but unfortunately he never managed to improve those times; which did not stop him or made him give up as he continued to believe that he could do it.

Today he can say that after so much work and dedication, he has improved both of his times and managed to make a new personal record in 50m freestyle and a New National Record in the 100m freestyle.

Here are his results of this Championship:

* 100m breaststroke – previously had 1.42,37 and did 1.45,23.

* 50m freestyle – 31.35 was his best season time and his record was 30.87. Now he did 30.36

* 100m backstroke – had 1.25,40 and did 1.26,09

* 100m freestyle –  1.09,15 was his best season time and his record was 1.08,21. Now he did 1.07,87

„I am very satisfied with my results and I can say that this time I am overwhelmed because I overcame what I so much desired… This season I did 2 National Records and 5 Personal Records!

I want to congratulate my teammates for good results because from 30 teams we stayed in 6th place with 23 medals, 9 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze.

I want to thank and say thank you to everyone for the support they have given me. To my family because without you my sporting career would not be possible.

To BioTechUSA thank you so much because no doubt that you have helped me alot and have been a great support in terms of my supplementation for my performance and have been wonderful people to work with and are great friends.”
