A day on the beach – what to take with you as a snack

Going to the beach requires some preparation if you want to watch want you eat. Otherwise you can easily give in to temptation. You have to pay attention how you store your meals, and a cooler is useful because it will keep yours meals refrigerated until the early afternoon.

Let’s consider what kind of meals you can take with you:

  • For breakfast you should definitely eat something that is rich in protein, like a vegetable omelette
  • For lunch you can prepare small sandwiches from wholemeal rye bread, ham and vegetables. If you place your veggies between two salad leaves your bread won’t get soaked
  • Another good idea is grilled chicken breast stripes with millet and zucchini or in wholemeal tortilla rolls with salad
  • For an afternoon snack you could take falafel with grilled vegetables
  • Chickpea salad with olives
  • Avocado cream with crunchy rye bread, maybe with beetroot&apple salad
  • Pack berries (mulberry, blueberry or strawberry) if you don’t want fruit with a high sugar content
  • You may also prepare homemade muffins made of good ingredients or a granola bar
  • Vegetables cut up in slices in a box (carrot, celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc.) are also a delicious snack
  • If you need protein replenishment, a protein bar or protein shake (put the powder in the shaker) could be handy
  • If you are dying of hunger, you can buy a Shawarma almost anywhere and you can it with a salad, without pita bread.

Have a good rest!
